A week before Pat and I got married, a friend of ours told us the story of an inspiring couple he knew. Although they were from two very separate backgrounds, nothing seemed strong enough cut the tie between them. Massive problems would come and go, everyday temptations would try their luck too, but these guys stood.
As a wedding gift, he decided to share with us the secret they shared with him:
To make your marriage last, build something you’re both passionate about.
Could be faith, a cause, a business, anything. Just make sure you’re both 100% vested in seeing an end result come. When your attraction for each other fails to hold you together, your common assignment will. Eventually, passion always comes back. You just want to make sure that when it comes, it meets you right in that marriage.
